2003/12/30 Denpa no Kanzume

Comic Market 63 Edition

Thank you for purchasing Tobichiyon X. It's still a simple shooter, but this time the system has been slightly spiced up, so if you read the manual, you might be a little happier.

System Requirements
OS: Windows98/2000/XP + DirectX8.1
CPU: Pentium 400MHz or higher recommended
VIDEO: Graphics card with fast 3D capabilities, Geforce series recommended
HDD: 40MB
Memory: 128MB or more recommended
Others: Gamepad support

How to Start
Installation
Run setup.exe on the CD to start the installer and follow the instructions.
Also, DirectX8.1 is required to run the program.
If your environment does not have DirectX8.1, install it from the Directx directory on the CD.

Uninstallation

From the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs (Add/Remove Programs in XP), select Tobichiyon X 2003 Winter Comiket Edition, or if a shortcut is registered in the Start Menu, select Tobichiyon X Uninstall.

Controls

@ Shot: Z key or A button
It's a normal bullet. It's good to keep it pressed for continuous fire.
While firing, the movement speed is 0.85 times the normal speed.
Switch to low speed for dodging bullets and high speed for collecting stars.

A Laser: X key or B button
It's a homing laser. You can shoot it twice the number of stars collected.
It will attack regardless of the enemy's altitude.

B Stars
They appear when you defeat enemies. You can stock up to 6.
They also serve as bonuses, and if you keep collecting them continuously, your score will increase exponentially: 100, 200, 400, 800,..., 25600, 50000 points.
If you miss even one or shoot the laser, the increased score will reset.

C Barrier
A barrier will be deployed around you the moment you shoot the laser.
Enemy bullets that touch the barrier will disappear. It cannot defeat enemies.

D Lives
Indicates the number of lives.
It seems like the number is off by one compared to normal shooting games (^^;

Others
Press the ESC key to exit the game.

Configuration
The configuration will start when launching the game.
Set it according to your system.

FPS
You can select 60FPS/30FPS/15FPS.
The higher the number, the smoother the video is, but the CPU load increases.
If the machine's performance is low, it will drop frames.

Resolution

You can select 640x480/320x240.
Higher resolution provides more good-looking rendering, but the CPU load increases.
If the machine performance's is low, it will drop frames.
Due to texture calculation errors, drawing artifacts may occur in 320x240 mode.

Screen Mode

You can select Fullscreen/Window.
Choose according to your preference.

Sound
You can select ON/OFF.
Choose according to your preference.
If there is no sound card, the sound will not play even if set to ON.

Difficulty
You can select Normal/Easy.
In Normal, you have 3 lives, and in Easy, you have 6 lives.

Tips
During the game, you can switch FPS with the F1 key.
Also, you can display the current FPS with the F2 key and the CPU load with the F3 key.
By the way, there's also the forbidden invincibility... cough cough (F9).
